Google Adwords: There’s Gold in the Words!
Adwords is the backbone Google’s paid advertising programs. All the advertising Google provides through its various search platforms (like Product Search, Google Maps, Google Finance) and Adsense come from Adwords.
Advertisers “buy” ads based on Keywords, and Adwords places those ads, as “Sponsored Links,” on the Google search engine on sites that use Adsense. Advertisers can also choose to show their ads through Google’s network partners, including AOL Search, Ask.com and Netscape.
To use Google Adwords: There’s Gold in the words! You will need to establish an Adwords account. You provide a credit card and pay a small activation fee. You don’t pay to have to have Google display your ad; you pay only when someone clicks on your ad. An Adwords campaign is built on one or more ads using one or more Keywords. Keywords trigger the ad; when a user types the Keyword into the search engine, Google calls up the ad.

Usually an ad is composed of three lines of text. The first line of text is your ad title; it’s the dominant element in your ad and contains the link users click on.
